Good things come to those who...

...don't wait!

Remember that old adage—"Good things come to those who wait."?

I don't agree with this theory. Although you can certainly benefit from delayed gratification, if you're just sitting around waiting for things to happen, you can be waiting a really long time!

The "law of attraction" is a big buzz phrase right now, but it is only part of the principles of manifesting what you want. You must not only focus on what you want, but also create "deliberate action" to get it.

Amazingly enough, it often doesn't matter WHAT you do, but just that you do something that matches the thought you're putting out. That's right—it's not necessarily the HOW that matters, but simply that you are taking some action that moves you toward what you want or shows sincere intention to create what you want.

One of my favorite manifestation teachers, Mike Dooley, has a great saying: "Do the best you can with what you've got from where you're at." I have this phrase taped to my bathroom mirror so I see it every day. It's really helped me to keep plugging along even when I'm not sure if I'm on the right road. Momentum is the key.

So don't WAIT for good things to come to you—take some action daily in whatever way seems best or doable at the time to match what you are wanting. It WILL pay off—maybe not immediately, but sooner than it will by just "wishing" for it.

Live fully!
Lisa

Am reading this for the first time on 9/22/08. I did not know about the blog or the other articles other than the Healthy You. I love the phrase by Mike Dooley, and will now keep this in a place I can see it everyday just like Lisa. Thanks for sharing this Lisa, it is timely for me. As you know, some days are better than others, and we need all the inspiration we can get!

I think your comment stands as a better example than I might’ve written myself on how NOT to put things off.
